Health And Beauty Spa

So many spas, so little time. How do you select the spa that is right for you? Salons all over the world for increasing the effects of the modern body care products and techniques. Today a spa definition and spa description can be found in many periodicals and spa treatments are offered by many salons. The spa term is connected with the name of the famous Belgium health resort called Spa, but now it means any modern health resort or a service of cosmetic industry on the basis of natural products.

Spa is a way to beauty and health via professional body care. This culture appeared not long time ago and has been gaining more and more popularity in the world. Spa is the future of the beauty industry in the 21st century; this is the new salon business and is considered to be the best thing that has been invented in the field of body and skin care.

Overview of Health And Beauty Spa

Spa includes the procedures that are performed on the basis of up-to-date technologies, sophisticated equipment, and new effective products including only natural ingredients. And of course, the most important thing is participation of the experienced and qualified cosmetologists and professionals that are involved in this industry.

The world has been changing permanently and today there is a period of fast life rhythm that requires from the modern men and women great pains and power in order to exist in this world. The rhythm of big cities, stresses, hard working hours, all these things take our beauty and affect our health. That is why the modern beauty industry tries to find the best solutions for this problem taking into account shortage of time of their customers.

Many of them can find the spa definition and spa description on the Internet or in magazines and endeavor to make a little more relaxation in their daily life. Once a week to visit the spa salon will give you more energy and make your body relax because spa treatments build around rejuvenation and relaxation and make you look perfect.

The spa term derives from the name of the Belgium hot water resort that has become very popular. A lot of people find that it is not obligatory to go for having rest in such places; it is possible to build their own resorts in their cities applying special equipment and products. Spa definition proposes the usage of the restorative products of marine origin both natural and processed: aquatic plants, salt, dirt, components of marine animals, as well as other natural products, such as plant extracts, essential oils, enzyme, vitamins, etc. The range of spa products offers a great variety of products that can be selected for every separate individual requirement of customers.

Spa equipment and facilities include the following machines: thermo baths, devices for ultrasound therapy, thermo blankets, spa-capsules, and many more items. All of them are used for performing different spa programs developed for customers: anti-stress, rejuvenation, anti-cellulitis treatment, relaxation, massage, and so on. So, the spa definition includes a lot of points that can be reviewed and the best solution can be chosen.

The effectiveness of the spa procedures is great. First of all, the spa treatment influences the deep mechanisms in the body, restores the cells, repairs the tissues, while the bio active components of the spa cosmetics improve the metabolism and provide the cell with nutrients that they need. Bioactive substances also stimulate the cells to store more moisture, and help them to protect, to remove toxins. Thus, spa is the best source of health and beauty.

The Risks of Health & Beauty Spa

Planning on treating yourself to a spa treatment? Before you plunge into a mineral bath, get kneaded like a ball of dough, or indulge in any of the other countless treatments available today, you should know the risks involved.

Sure, spas have been around a long time -- since ancient times, in fact, when Roman soldiers in a small Belgium village called Spa first discovered the soothing effects that hot mineral springs had on their aching bodies. Up to the turn of the 20th century, doctors from various cultures routinely sent patients to soak in baths they believed to have restorative powers. But most of the spas of today bear little resemblance to those first "curative" spas.

Yet today, operators of the 10,000 or so spas in the U.S. continue to tout the treatments' health benefits. While most of today's spas promise to restore, refresh, and renew -- and some offer even more explicit health claims -- they generally don't warn you of the potential risks involved. But they do exist. Certain spa treatments can worsen chronic and acute health conditions. All spas can pose risks to the general public, particularly when operated in a state of uncleanliness.

We talked to medical experts and public health officials to learn just what these health risks entail and how you can avoid them.

Chronic Conditions
Pedicures: Dangerous with Diabetes People with diabetes need to take extra precautions when getting foot treatments. "Any break in the skin, potentially from aggressive trimming of a callous or cuticle, can increase the risk of foot infections called cellulitis," says Sharon Horesh, MD, an internal medicine doctor with Emory University's department of medicine.

That's not the only reason for precaution.

You can't always tell how clean a spa's water or supplies are. But you can minimize your risk of becoming infected by contaminated water or supplies. "If you have diabetes and you have ulcerations on your feet, bring your own container of water for a pedicure," says Louise-Ann McNutt, PhD, an epidemiology professor at the University of Albany. She also suggests bringing your own equipment, from bucket to emery boards. "It puts you in charge of how clean the supplies are," she tells WebMD.

Massage: Finding the Right Touch
When it comes to massage, experts say that the degree of risk involved depends on the type of touch applied. "The most important adaptation for chronic disease, like cancer, is touch level," says Kathleen Clayton, a licensed massage therapist and spokeswoman for the American Massage Therapy Association.

"In that instance, I might do a light touch, or foot reflexology."

Finally, she urges all potential massage-goers to receive massages only from licensed massage therapists. "Find somebody who will know what to look for and what to ask the patient," she says.
Acute Conditions

Pregnancy: What's the Rub on Massage?
While off-limits in the first trimester, massage may actually bring pregnant women great relief in the second and third trimesters. But the type of massage matters. "In the second and third trimesters, women should specifically seek a pregnancy massage therapist and avoid massage techniques that involve long strokes along the legs or pressure between the ankle and heels," Horesh tells WebMD.

There's good reason to heed this advice. "There's always a chance that it might make the baby dislodge, or induce premature labor.

Massage and Menstruation
The combination of massage and menstruation is a double-edged sword. On the downside, it can increase menstruation flow. But because it improves circulation, massage may minimize some symptoms of menstruation. "It can reduce back pain and cramps and diminish the feeling of bloating.

A Spa Can Relieve Tension As Well As Make You Look Younger

The spa is designed to be a place where you can go to let the world fade away. With all the activity in our daily lives it is no wonder spas are becoming big business. If you have never had the pleasure of visiting a spa, you may want to take a break from your demanding life and revamp your body and mind at one of the many spas available around the world.

As you arrive at the spa there are a number of wonderful pleasing activities that will send you into a state of relaxation. The facials are generally the first place that people tend to go to. Facials are a great place to start, the simple act of closing your eyes and having your face washed may start you to relax. There are many different types of facials available at spas and they are all with one benefit in mind, you. Whether you just have a deep cleansing facial or an age defying facial you will be sure to see a fresher face the next time you look in the mirror. A facial should have cleaning, moisturizing and refreshing levels as the key steps. There are many different types of crèmes and such that the spa may have available to enable this. The facial you have at the spa today may not be the same one you choose tomorrow. Regardless of the type of facial you choose you will not be disappointed.

Another common part of most spas is the body wraps. If you enjoyed the facial then head for a body wrap next since these are very similar. The wraps will encompass what the facial missed. After, you may feel as though your skin has been replaced with that of a child's. The dried layers of skin are no longer hiding the natural beauty underneath. You will feel refreshed and renewed by the time the end of the body wrap has arrived.

Finally you must attend to your muscles and the tired feeling you may carry around with you all day. A massage will undo the tension, giving you a new sense of direction. The tension that can build in your muscles can be a source of irritability that many people do not recognize. Often the simple release that can come from a massage is an experience worth plenty. The price of a day at the spa is not as expensive as the cost of high blood pressure and pulled muscles.

The spa is a place that can relax you and remove the stress and pressures faced in your daily life. From facials, to body wraps to a complete massage your tension will dissolve, leaving you feeling renewed and refreshed.

Health & Beauty Spas - Pure Indulgence

Health spas are places where you can go to get a range of health treatments, intended to relax you and relieve stress. They are a modern phenomenon, and are often seen as a product of our high-stress lifestyles, with busy professionals paying large sums of money just to get away from it all for a few hours. However, that isn’t to say that spas can’t be very nice places to go, because they are.

There are lots of different kinds of spas: day spas (where you just drop in when you have an appointment) and resort spas (where you stay like in a hotel) are the most common, with others including spas on cruise ships and medical spas run by doctors.

Most spas offer a wide range of services, with some of the most common and popular being facials, saunas, massages, and various skin and body treatments. Some spas are devoted to a particular aspect of health, such as weight loss or the treatment of back pains.

When you choose a spa, you should make sure that you speak to other customers who have been there before. In common with much of the health industry, many spas can be somewhat disreputable, charging large amounts to stay and further large amounts for each treatment you take. Some spas take deceptive pricing a very long way, and will threaten you with legal action if you don’t pay. This isn’t to scare you away from health spas altogether, but simply to warn you to make sure to stick to ones that have a good reputation, where you know what you’re getting for your money.

If you don’t want to go to a full-blown health spa, though, there are plenty of alternatives. Most of the treatments offered at a health spa are offered by individual practitioners separately, and they are often better at what they do than the staff at a spa. Failing that, beauty salons can also be good places to go for many treatments.

Health & Beauty Spa pleasures: Hot sugar body polish

Stage 1 My skin needed to be wet for this treatment so, after stripping down to my disposable undies, I was asked to lie down on my front while my therapist showered me down with warm water. Not a terribly dignifying experience, but needs must and all that.

Stage 2 A handful of the self-heating sugar polish was then applied to my legs and rubbed around using a firm but gentle circular motion. The initial sensation of the polish takes a little getting used to as it heats up on contact with the skin, but after a few seconds if feels quite pleasant. The heating element reminded me of one of those sauna face masks and gave me the impression that the process was drawing impurities out of the skin as well as removing dead skin on the surface of my body through exfoliation.

Stage 3 After applying the polish to my entire body in this way, I was showered down once again and covered in towels to prevent me from getting too cold.

Stage 4 While my skin was still damp, Eastern Massage and Body Oil (£6.95 for 200ml) was applied to my limbs, feet and torso using long sweeping strokes. Special attention was paid to my feet, too, which was absolutely divine. The treatment was rounded off with a relaxing scalp massage during which I nearly fell asleep. I was advised to let the oil soak into the skin for about half an hour before showering again.

Could the treatment be improved in anyway?
I did end up with a mild case of pins and needles in my arms for a short while afterwards as a result of leaning my head on my arms during the back massage. So perhaps the Sanctuary could come up with more comfortable head rests for these hour-long treatments.

Results Not only did the treatment feel like a complete treat for my whole body, but there was a marked difference in my skin's appearance afterwards which seemed to last for quite a few days.
