Complement to Conessine

 

Complement: A normal constitutent of blood serum. Complementation: Interaction between two viruses in growth. Complex: Combination o[ various actions or symptoms. Complexation: A tendency to associate with each other. ' Composition: A mixture of two or more materials that are solid in the

Compound: (1) A substance composed of atoms or ions of two or more elements in chemical combination. (2) A product formula. (3) Having two sets of lenses. .

open-chain compound.
-Addition compound: A compound formed by the union of two or more compounds or elements.
- Aliphatic compound: An
open-chain saturated compound.
- Aromatic compounds: A closed-chain compound that contains bonds similar to those of benzene.

composed of four elements.
- Saturated compound: A compound in which the combining capacities of all the elements are satisfied.
- Substitution compound: A compound formed by replacement of elements of a molecule by other elements.

Compress: A pad or bolster of folded gauze, applied with pressure. Compressibility: A process of pressing the solid material to make it more firm in desired shape. Compression: The act of pressing together.
Concatenate: To link together as in a chain.
Concentration: The amount of a given substance in a stated unit of a mixture, solution, or ore. Concentric: Having a common centre, as circle or sphere. Concha: A shell-like shape. Conchitis: An inflammation of a concha.
Concoction: A mixture of medicinal substances prepared by the aid of heat.
Concrescence: A growing together; a union of two parts.
Condensation: (1) A type of chemical reaction in which two or more molecules combine. (2) Conversion from tbe gaseous state to the liquid or solid state. (3) The packing of dental filling material. (4) The process of becoming more compact.
Condenser: A vessel for condensing gases or vapours.
Condiment: A drug that creates, improves appetite and aids digestion. Conduction: Transfer of energy by
transmission of momentum of individual molecules.
- Aerial conduction: the passing
of sound waves to the ear through the air.

- Antidromic conduction: The conduction of a nerve impulse in a direction contrary to the nonnal direction.
- Avalanche conduction: The conduction of nerve impulses which takes place when the terminals of one neuron comes in contact with the bodies of several neurons.
- Bone conduction: fhe conduction of sound to the inner ear through the bones ofthe skull.

- Intra-atrial conduction:
Conduction of cardiac impulse through the artial myocardium shown by P wave in electrocardiogram.
- Intraventricular conduction: Conduction ofthe cardiac impulse through the ventricular myocardium represented by the
QRS complex of cardiogram.
Conductivity: The capacity of a body to conduct a current or heat. Conduit: A channel for the passage of fluids.
Condyle (Condylus) : A rounded knuckle-shaped articular surface at the end of a bone.
Cone: A solid figure with a circular base tapering to a point.
Conessine : A steroidal alkaloid isolated from kurchi bark. Confections: Conserves and electuaries, form a method of prescribing bulky drugs mixed into a paste with sugar or honey.
