Epimer to Erectile

Epimer : An isomer which differs from the compound with which it is being compared only in relative positions of an attached hydrogen and hydroxyl.
Epimerization : The changing of one epimer form of a combined into another.
Epimysium: The fibrous sheath about an entire muscle. Epinephrine: A hormone secreted by the adrenal medulla, which is a powerful vasopressor. Epinephritis : Inflammation of the suprar renal gland.

- Cilitated epithelium: Any type bearing vibratile cilia on the free surface.
- Columnar epithelium: A type
composed of tall prismatic cells.
- Cuboidal epithelium : Composed
of cube-shaped cells.
- Protective epithelium :
Epithelium that forms a protective
covering.
- Squamous epithelium :
Epithelium composed of flattened
plate-like cells.
- Stratified epithelium :
Epithelium in which the cells are
aganged in several layers.
- Subcapsular epithelium: The
epithelioid lining of the capsule of
ganglia.
Epitonic : Abnormally tense or tonic.
Epitoxoid : Any toxoid that has less affinity for an antitoxin than does the corresponding toxin.
Epioxide: (1) Three-membered heterocyclic ether. (2) An organic compound containing a reactive group resulting from the union of a~ oxygen atom with two other atoms.
Epoxy resin: A thermosetting resin based on the reactivity of the epoxide group.
Equation: An expression made "p of two members connected by the sign of equality, =, or arrow, --+.
- Arrhenius equation: An
equation describing the temperature dependence of a reaction rate constant.
- Chemical equation: An equation that expresses a chemical reaction, the symbols on the left of the
Equilibrium: (1) A condition in which a reaction and its reverse reaction occur at the same rate, resulting in a constant concentration of reactants.
- Acid base equilibrium: A
condition in which the net rate of acid or alkali production by the body is balanced by the net rate of acid or base excretion from the body, resulting in a stable concentration of hydrogen ions in the body fluid.
- Donnan equilibrium: The conditions which exists at equilibrium when two solutions are separated by a membrane which is permeable to some of the ions of the solutions, but not to all of them.
Equilibrium constant: A number that relates the concentration of
starting materials and products of a
reversible chemical reaction to one another.
Equimolar: Containing the same number of moles.

Equimolecular : Containing the same number of molecules.
Equivalent: (1) Having the same value, neutralizing each other. (2) In medicine, a symptom that replaces one that is usual in a given disease.
-Chemical equivalent: (1) The
atomic weight of an atom or molecular weight of a molecule involved in a chemical reaction divided by the number of electrons donated. (2) The weight in grams of an element that combines with or replaces 1 g of hydrogen. (3) The weight of a substance contained in 1 litre of a normal solution.
- Gram equivalent: The equivalent weight of a substance expressed in gram of the 'n' grams of a substance when 'n' is its atomic weight divided by its valency.
- Joule's eqw.valent: The dynamic equivalent of heat in which the amount of work is converted into heat raising the temperature of 1 pound of water to 1°F.
- MiDi equivalent: An expression of concentration of substance per litre of solution calculated by dividing the concentration by
the molecular weight.
- Toxic equilvalent : The amount of poison per kilogram of body weight necessary to kill an animal.
Equivalent weight: The weight of an element that combines chemically with 8 gram of oxygen or its equivalent.
