Akash Mudra
The tip of the middle finger touches the tip of the thumb; the remaining fingers to be kept straight and relaxed. This Mudra increases the space element in the body. As the middle finger is related to the heart, this Mudra helps heart problems. The thumb and middle finger is used for chanting beads too. To end animosity and fear, chanting is done with thumb and index finger.
Prithvi Mudra
The tip of the ring finger touches the tip of thumb, the remaining fingers straight and relaxed. This can be practiced in any asana for any length of time. It is useful for physical weakness, weight gain, lustre and happmess.
Varun Mudra
The tips of little finger and thumb touch with the remaining fingers straight and relaxed. Cures deficiency of wa
ter element, blood impurities. and gastric problems.
Shunya Mudra
The middle finger is placed at the top of Mount of Venus and is pressed down with the thumb. This Mudra can be practiced daily for 30-40 minutes till improvement commences. At times relief is very rapid. It is quite useful for ear problems like earaches, hearing problems.

Surya Mudra
Bend the ring finger and press the tip on the base of the thumb. Press with thumb lightly. Padmasana is the best asana for this Mudra. Perform this one with both hands for five to fifteen minutes preferably twice daily. The centres of thyroid glands receive pressure. In Acupressure therapy it gets activated, helps in weight reduction, fat reduction and in
mental tension.
Apan Mudra
Here the tip of the thumb is touched by the tips of the middle finger and ring finger, the remaining fingers being kept straight and relaxed. This is described in the last issue.

Apan Vayu Mudra
, The index finger touches the base of the thumb. The tip of the thumb touches the tip of middle finger and ring finger. The little finger should be straight. This combines two Mudras, the Apan Mudra and Vayu Mudra with the result of which their combined effect reduces gas in stomach, and cures heart ailments. It is therefore called 'Hriday-Mudra'. On starting symptoms pertaining to the heart this is the Mudra to be practiced immediately. Patients of hypertension who have experienced heart problems should' practice for fifteen minutes in the morning and evening. Even during an attack this Mudra is known to help considerably. In fact its effect is compared to that of tablet of sorbitol that is a saviour giving strength to the heart.
