SCRUBS

SCRUBS
A scrub should be mild and unabrasive enough to be able to be used every day. Scrubs stimulate circulation and cleanse the pores, preventing blackheads by efficiendy removing the dead scaly outer most layer of the skin. They bring a glowing luster to the complexion and stimulate new skin growth. Formulated for your skin type, it can be used instead of soap or cleanser on a daily basis or as part of your weekly facial ritual.
Avoid scrubs claimed to be natural that use crushed apricot pits or nut shells as they are too rough and abrasive. (This means that it is also best to avoid using buffing pads and loofas on the fadal skin.) The action of such products could be likened to trying to bring a smooth, perfect finish to wood using only rough sand papa They can also irritate and cause microscopic damage to the fragile structures of the skin.
Generally, the base of all scrubs are whole grain or bean flour with some powdered herbs-added for deeper cleansing and powdered dried flower petals for scent and color: like the ubtans, they are mixed with sufficient spring water or herbal tea to make a creamy paste. (You can use a little of the herb tea or essential oil water from your steam.)

. Genrly rub the mixture on the face in small, clockwise circles. Rinse off with cool, clean water.
For NORMAL skin, use oat flour plus a litde tulsi, sandalwood powder; and powdered rose petals. Mix to a paste with spring water; raw milk, or comfrey tea.
For DRY skin, use chickpea or fine lentil flour with wheat germ, powdered afinonds, agar agat; ashwagandha, haritaki, fenugreek, tulsi, elder flowers, and rose petals. Mix these ingredients with aloe vera juice, milk, or cream.
For OILY skin, use barley flour with rice bran, amalaki, coriander, manjishta, neem, sandalwood, and lavender powder. Mix these with dilute lemon or aloe vera juice.
For MATURE skin, use lentil, barley, or rice flour with haritaki, ashwagandha, tulsi, licorice, and powdered orange blossom mixed with aloe vera juice or milk with a litde honey.
For BLEMISHED skin, use oat flour and clay powder plus ashwagandha, coriander cumin, bibitaki, haritaki, fenugreek, gingeIj neem, manjishta, and a pinch of turmeric and lavender powder all mixed with yoghun.
All of these scrubs can be used as masks. What follows are more specific beneficial facial. masks.

Kapha people love to rest and take life as it comes. They rarely have difficulty sleeping and enjoy long deep sleep which lasts often longer than eight hours. Yet they awake re&eshed. Kapha types need to watch that they don't sleep too much, however, as sleep is by its own nature Kapha producing and can lead to weight gain and mental heaviness. Early to bed and early to rise will help Kapha types be healthy, wealthy, and wise! Interestingly, this rhyme was invented for children who, by virtue of their stage in life, are more Kapha.

MASKS
There are many types of masks, but basical1y their actions fall into three categories:
1) They extract dirt nom deep in the skin, preventing or eliminating blackheads and acne.
2) They nourish by providing vitamins and minerals and rejuvenate by refining pores, healing scar00& evening out the color tone, soothing and moisturizing the skin.
3) They can also stimulate the deepest layer of the skin to make healthy new growth.
Clay is the best base for a mask as it acts like a magnet for din and toxins that accumulate deep in the skin. Clay is also a rich source of minerals (vital to healthy skill), such as iron, magnesium, zinc, potassium, calcium, and silica. Powdered white or green clay is available in most health food and herb shops.
To make a mask most effective for you, select herbs and essential oils in accordance with your skin condition (viz. selection for steams). Only a few drops of essential oil are needed to create a pleasant fragrance. A mask should be worn for 10 to 20 minutes. Use this time to do a quick hand and foot massage.
For NORMAL and DRY skin, create a mask with 6 parts clay, 2
parts aloe vera juice, egg white, or spring water, and 1 part honey.
For OILY skin, make a mask with 5 parts clay, 1 part honey, 1 part
aloe vera juice, and 1 part fennel tea or lemon juice.
For MATURE skin, use 6 parts clay, 3 parts honey, 2 parts spring water or aloe vera juice, plus a little rosa mosquita, Vitamin E and A, evening primrose, or borage oil.
For BLEMISHED skin, try 6 parts clay, 1 part yoghurt, and 2 parts jojoba oil.
